Jan 26 09:55:27 <Tofe> JaMa: I wonder, has someone compared Yocto build performances between filesystems ? I'm thinking about CoW fs like btrfs and so on, compared to ext4
Jan 26 14:04:00 <Tofe> FYI, I am soon about to give up on the touchscreen issue: no progress with my numerous attemps, DMA doesn't work (no data received, no error either), and without DMA I still get useless data. The i2c lead ends quickly, the mainline gen3 driver fails to initialize the touchscreen. There's no documentation whatsoever, this cy8ctma395 chipset only ever existed on Touchpad and on Acer Iconiatab A100 (but the latter is based on Tegra2),
Jan 26 14:04:00 <Tofe> none of which have a real kernel driver for the touchscreen.
Jan 26 14:06:18 <Tofe> Porting the old uartdm serial driver from 3.0 kernel to mainline is a rabbit hole (with different dma driver, APIs have changed, and we probably get conflicts with msm_serial mainline driver), without any assurance that it would work
Jan 26 14:07:37 <Tofe> I've also tried contacting cypress support, but of course they just probably ignored my request. Either they don't care, or don't have these documents anymore.
Jan 26 14:11:23 <Tofe> So, for now, unfortunately, I don't see any point in continuing this mainlining effort
Jan 26 16:16:15 <Herrie> Tofe: It might be worth submitting the DTB to kernel mailing list
Jan 26 16:16:27 <Herrie> Who knows who might chip in with something
Jan 26 16:16:49 <Herrie> Pity this stuff leads nowhere
Jan 26 16:22:04 <Tofe> Herrie: do you think they would accept a dts which is so partially working ?
Jan 26 16:41:53 <Tofe> Well I guess I can always try
Jan 26 16:51:11 <Herrie> Tofe: What is working and what isn't
Jan 26 16:51:29 <Herrie> I think they accept it when minimal serial etc work
Jan 26 16:52:20 <Tofe> we have usb, serial, some graphics with artefacts
Jan 26 16:56:14 <Herrie> I say it's a good start really
