**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Tue Oct 01 02:59:58 2013 Oct 01 07:34:20 morning! Oct 01 08:51:16 hi yocto.. I am using yocto with meta-ti layer for beaglebone black .I compiled core-minimal-image for bbb.I got toolchain by "bitbake meta-toolchain ".I installed the toolchain at /opt by executing the toolchain script at tmp/deploy/sdk/. Oct 01 08:52:29 But when i compile u-boot(externally) using that toolchain, i got this error "arm-poky-linux-gnueabi-ld.bfd: unrecognized option '-Wl,-O1'" Oct 01 08:53:15 It just related with linker. But i dont know what it missing? Oct 01 09:00:52 sorry.. Oct 01 09:01:02 my X server crashed Oct 01 09:01:22 vicky: can you try "export LDFLAGS=" Oct 01 09:01:30 i think you got my post ? Oct 01 09:01:59 to lib of poky compiler? Oct 01 09:02:16 vicky: please unset LDFLAGS and try building again. Oct 01 09:03:38 vicky: yes, I saw your comments about toolchain Oct 01 09:06:24 morning all Oct 01 09:07:00 thanks Oct 01 09:07:05 i will try Oct 01 09:09:40 thanks maxin. Works fine Oct 01 09:15:10 isn't -Wl,-O1 in LDFLAGS a bit funny? I mean, -Wl is used to gcc right, while ld would use -O directly? Oct 01 09:16:15 Bagder: yep, '-Wl' is a gcc pass to linker flag. Oct 01 09:17:25 right and LDFLAGS is for ld ... Oct 01 09:18:23 Bagder: probably removing LDFLAGS from the environment-setup file might be a good idea ? Oct 01 09:18:57 well, I'm not sure I have the complete picture to be able to tell, I just reacted to the gccism in LDFLAGS Oct 01 09:20:08 haha thats funny, i guess no one validates oe.core against building oe.core, 'WARNING: Host distribution "Unknown" has not been validated' Oct 01 09:21:14 nrossi__: oe-core is distro-less ;) it doesn't warn when building against poky, which is validated. Oct 01 09:42:59 Heya, I have a weird issue, hoping someone have some pointers. I'm trying to build backports, certain backported linux drivers, but I am failing at making it compile. When I build it "regularly" on my own system (i.e. not cross-compiled and manually), it builds just fine, but I get a "syntax error" when I try to build it with bitbake. This is the recipe: http://pastebin.com/FQBNR6bY and this is the error output: http://pastebin.co Oct 01 09:43:00 m/YkeD4VyN Oct 01 09:43:14 it works just fine with make menuconfig; make Oct 01 09:43:25 And it also works (on my own system) when I copy in .config and then run make, so. Oct 01 09:44:59 Anyone have any ideas? Oct 01 10:37:00 Aynone know how I can set the name of the kernel generated via bitbake? There's a possibility this would solve the issue with compiling backports. Oct 01 14:59:46 YPTM: Corneliu joined Oct 01 15:00:02 YPTM: welcome to the technical team meeting. Oct 01 16:26:27 Is yocto participating for the next round of OPW? Oct 01 16:31:42 ash_136: I hope so, but pidge should be able to say for sure... pidge? Oct 01 16:32:28 bluelighting:When will the list be announceD?? Oct 01 16:33:00 the list of participating organisations? Oct 01 16:35:19 ash_136: I haven't been involved in OPW so I'm not sure I'm afraid Oct 01 16:35:45 bluelighting:Oh okay :( No one seems to know Oct 01 16:35:54 and application deadline is nov1 Oct 01 17:04:38 bluelightning: I haven't organized it yet, but I'd love for us to do so. Let me ping Jefro Oct 01 17:22:46 what is OPW? Oct 01 17:35:19 Crofton: https://www.yoctoproject.org/opw-internship Oct 01 17:38:47 tlwoerner, thanks Oct 01 17:39:03 we are watching the gnuradio GSoC presentations Oct 01 17:39:25 the SDR community has similar (lack) of diversity issues Oct 01 17:39:48 although we have one woman presenting on LDPC codes Oct 01 17:39:57 I wonder if the word codes is redundant Oct 01 17:50:05 Crofton: like ATM machine Oct 01 17:51:35 people are now working on hacking the wireless mike Oct 01 18:03:22 Crofton: the hardware give-aways (at the conference you're presently attending) are pretty sweet! Oct 01 18:04:27 Yeah Oct 01 18:04:40 http://www.taylorkillian.com/2013/08/sdr-showdown-hackrf-vs-bladerf-vs-usrp.html Oct 01 18:04:55 there are guys working on the wireless mike atm Oct 01 18:06:21 as in: "the wireless mike being used by the presenters"? :-) Oct 01 18:06:22 I am biased :) Oct 01 18:06:33 of course Oct 01 18:06:46 the fcc database is offline, but I think somone found it already Oct 01 18:07:23 I love on a gov't shutdown they turn off databases and servers.. Oct 01 18:07:23 WTF Oct 01 18:07:31 i assumed you had some biases :-) but from the chart, your biases are good Oct 01 18:08:15 fray bandwidth costs money Oct 01 18:08:41 I'm sure it does.. but I'd say "your hosting is doing it wrong" Oct 01 18:10:08 my biases tend to be governed by my wallet ;-) Oct 01 18:31:14 sgw_: is it possible to trigger a meta-fsl-arm build? I fixed u-boot-fslc issue Oct 01 18:33:52 otavio: sure let me start that. Oct 01 18:43:36 otavio: master? Oct 01 18:43:41 sgw_: yes Oct 01 18:43:50 sgw_: dora is in sync so does not matter much Oct 01 18:44:17 otavio: right, I have a handful of patches pending in mut for our next rc Oct 01 18:45:27 sgw_: I am thinking how to improve u-boot for next release cycle; the packaging is not good and too fragile Oct 01 18:47:03 otavio: Ok Oct 01 19:29:42 hello. I have a strange issue with master. I have 2 layers A (priority 9) and B (priority 10) which both have a bbappend for psplash and both provide a psplash-poky-img.h. Layer A defines a machine and Layer B include this machine to define an other one based on the 1st. In oe-core's psplash_git.bb there is an anoymous python function which sets SPLASH_LOCALPATHS. When it's executed I see that FILESPATH doesn't contains the path provi Oct 01 19:30:36 the result is that when building psplash for machine defined in layer B, I get the splash screen included in layer A. Oct 01 19:50:15 ericben: answering myself ;-) That's because of the order of the values in SOC_FAMILY as machine B adds a value there but also gets the one of machine A so the FILESEXTRAPATH_prepend_overridelayerA overtake FILESEXTRAPATH_prepend_overridelayerB. Asking on IRC helps to open the eyes ;-) Oct 01 20:15:22 so i got used to the whole reverse-engineering thing as an IV&V guy Oct 01 20:15:57 but now i'm asking myself why i still have to do it with my own coworkers... Oct 01 21:45:11 otavio: ^^^^ your build was green! Oct 01 22:44:06 hi all, a quick question Oct 01 22:44:46 is python-3.3.2 added into OE or yocto? I found patch in OE mailing list but not in git! Oct 02 01:41:53 I seem to be getting DRM/KMS-related kernel crash on boot with 3.10.11 kernel... Oct 02 01:43:24 is there a planned update to 3.10.14? **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Oct 02 02:59:58 2013
